The carefulness of her selections is most evident in the overall impact of their accumulation, which, like brush stroke after brush stroke, slowly build into a transfixing scene, the sum of which is greater than each part. Like the Mugler bolero glove, Marni’s creations deprioritize the established logic of the DJ in favor of the fantasy of the artist.
